Challenge

When we met Stolen Stitches, they were 14 years into their business journey. They were full of natural personality across their platforms and the team envisioned a big future for the brand but were unsure how to execute it.

Their visual presence wasn’t consistent and creating any materials was time-consuming for the team. We didn’t want to alter or lose any of the brand recognition and excellent reputation they had built. Instead, we wanted to examine what makes them unique and work on communicating that with one voice and style.

Solution

We started with a brand audit to get a snapshot of where they were. It was important to dig deep on language, workflows, products and not just visual style.

We followed that with a story workshop for the whole team to uncover the vision and ethos they were already living but hadn’t defined. We used the findings to synchronise the language the team used and give clarity to the brand direction for everyone.

We created a new responsive logo and a brand colour palette that was drawn from images of Irish nature. Sand dunes and seas, mountains with scattered vibrant pops of wildflowers.

A key output for this project was templates, so that the team could create everything they needed inhouse from postcards and stickers to social media and newsletters.

Every finding, style and template was captured in a Brand Guidelines document as a source of truth and we followed up with a number of training sessions to make sure the team felt confident executing the new look.

“Cova did not try to superimpose what they ‘thought’ our company should be. They took the time to learn who we are and translate that, first into a visual representation of our brand, and then into comprehensive brand guidelines. This was the starting point of a much more professional level of branding for our company in everything we do.”
